Johannes heads up our commercial and litigation departments. He is a former advocate of the High Court of South Africa and member of the Cape and National Bar Associations. His litigation experience includes time spent with the London Bar. Johannes left the Bar in 1997 to lead the litigation team of a prominent Cape Town based law firm. In January 2000 he established the firm of J S Spamer and Associates, which merged into Spamer Triebel in 2006. Johannes specializes in complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. |

Jens is in charge of our intellectual Property department. He started his career in the civil service and worked as a diplomat in Geneva for a number of years representing South Africa at the GATT, the World Trade Organisation and the World intellectual Property Organization. He was Deputy Registrar of Patents and Trade Marks for a brief spell before qualifying as an attorney and a trade mark practitioner in 2000. More recently, Jens was a partner in the Johannesburg office of the largest South African intellectual property law firm. Jens is a member of INTA and GRUR. His practice focuses on trade marks, covering all aspects from searching, filing, rights transfers, portfolio management and international trade mark strategies, including contentious proceedings relating to trade marks, unlawful competition and company name disputes. |

Lutricia is a qualified attorney and conveyancer and worked in a general law firm specializing in litigation and conveyancing for a number of years. She also spent a few years as a senior legal advisor for a large mining house and founded the University of Stellenbosch Law Aid clinic. Lutricia has been a partner in a large South African corporate Law firm, specializing in intellectual property law for the past eighteen years dealing with all aspects of trade marks, including searching, filing and prosecution as well as the protection and enforcement of rights in trade marks and copyright. In addition, she specialized in due diligence investigations in respect of intellectual property, preparing deeds of hypothecation for recordal at the trade marks office in securing debts for large corporations, and preparing commercial agreements relating to all forms of intellectual property, including pLant breeder’s rights. |
